What if you want to shoot a cute girl in a flowerfield but it’s still winter … sounds like a greenkey job to me !
The secret to good integration is lighting.
We built an even lighting setup, with 2 silver profoto Umbrellas XL at 2m high, in about 45 degree angles to our model. We bounced a front light to a white reflection panel on the ground to create a nice radiosity feeling (global illumination). The greenkey was lit with a 28 inch Mola Setti (with a white diffusor) in the center of the key at a height of 3 meter, behind the model.
In post we did a subtle color grading correction to match with our background. We overglowed the background onto the model to add more radiosity. The edges of the key were blurred into the background, we added a little fake depth of field to match the short range of the background plate, and finally added a bit of flare to the model. Small details like the foreground flowers where painted in to have some foreground elements, and to create more depth to the composition.

Axelle needs no introduction. Her singing career spans almost 20 years. Together with the Fashion Museum of Hasselt, she presents ‘Fashion Victim’, an exhibition about her music & her style. For the opening she performed in front of the museum for a select audience. We made some impressions of this talented artist performing.

Tv channel VIER made a dope commercial for the release of the new Tarantino film ‘Django Unchained‘. We were invited to shoot the behind the scenes documentary, and to set up a photoshoot of the 2 cowboys in a real saloon. Take a look at some of the frames & the billboard in this gallery.

One of our favorite forms of photography is documentary photography. We are regularly asked to make a visual report of art exhibitions or company events. This is a challenging work environment because you have little or no control on your lighting, models or location. Working with these limitations is liberating. Photography in a very pure shape.
